Room Design Skills

How can the Room Design course be improved?
- " I had a customer who wanted to get cocktail and end tables for her living room. After asking some discovery questions I found out that she had a sectional with limited space on the sides, so I recommended an end table for the reclining side and a matching lamptable for the chaise side since she spends her time reading. She loved the idea. "
- " Room Design helped me because it made me suggest more for the room and in doing that I sold more accessories. It increased my sales "

I told her that the most important thing is that she feel comfortable in the room, and that total uniformity of style is not a requirement for a well designed, comfortable room. "

- " I have been using these techniques for years, and when you take the time to involve the customer in conversation about their exsisting room and what they would like to see change in the future, it is always going to be successful, even if the customer is not able to do everything at once if you outfit them with a plan, they become a long term customer that will always ask for you when they can return! "

The customer was able to not only get involved with her suggestions of the placement of her new furniture but also the excitement that comes with buying new furniture and new accessories. - " I was able to assist a customer in choosing the right wall color for her room by explaining how natural and artifical lighting affect the mood and feel of her room. She had very little natural light and wanted to paint her walls a very dark brown. She also had very dark floors. "
- " Since I just completed it I have not been on the floor post course yet ,however, I look forward to utilizing the questions covered in the lesson in order to open up critical conversation in understanding customer needs which will assist in satisfying their design and look in their home. "
